Based on the U.S. Smith-Mundt Act of 1948, this program is open to university students worldwide, offering them the opportunity to experience life in the U.S., improve their English skills, and work in American companies. The program is supervised by the U.S. government and includes Medical and Accident Insurance. Students work in the U.S. as legal taxpayers, gaining valuable experience while also easing their financial burden.

This non-profit program, funded by the U.S. federal government and operating under the 1958 Exchange Education Act, attracts 30,000 High School Students aged 15-18.5 from over 100 countries worldwide each year. Its aim is to strengthen international youth exchange, promote cultural understanding, and facilitate academic communication.

Language: Participants must take and pass an Oral English Test and psychological assessment organized by the Agency, Wemeets, followed by an online English interview conducted by the Sponsor or Host Employer, to ensure students meet the language requirements;

Application Materials: After receiving a Job Offer, Wemeets will provide guidance on application materials, assisting students in accurately completing the materials and passing the Sponsor's review, then the Sponsor will release the DS2019 Form to students;

Visa Application: Participants must attend visa training organized by Wemeets before the Visa Interview；

Travel Arrangements: After visa approval, Wemeets will arrange travel plans for students based on the host employer's location to prevent financial losses due to incorrect flight bookings;

Pre-departure training: Participation in the pre-departure training organized by Wemeets is mandatory. The training covers topics such as American work culture, customer service skills, labor laws, safety knowledge, and daily communication.

Greet store customers and provide product information and recommendations; responsible for product display, inventory management, and cashier duties; assist the store management team with daily operational tasks; maintain store cleanliness and a positive customer shopping experience; communicate with tourists from different countries during peak travel seasons and provide simple travel advice and information.

Upon arriving in the United States, I felt stressed due to language barriers and the fast-paced work environment, but I gradually adapted through daily practice and communication with colleagues; I learned how to solve practical problems using English and improved my cross-cultural communication skills; I enhanced my time management and service awareness in a high-intensity, multi-tasking work environment; and I gained a better understanding of customer needs and sales psychology by interacting with a diverse range of customers.

Participating in the SWT program allowed me to gain international work experience and practical English skills. Even more dramatically, after returning to China, one of the clients I served in the US became my boss! I never expected that participating in the program would solve my employment problem – a truly unexpected and pleasant surprise.

Allow me to borrow a classic line from Forrest Gump: "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." Because it's so similar to my experience. Under the professional guidance of Wemeets, I successfully went to the United States to participate in the SWT program. The program experience was fantastic; all the hard work was well worth it. I learned and grew, and in my spare time, I participated in exhibitions and worked as a translator. After returning to China, my boss invited me to work at his company.
