Program Overview

Internship/Trainee USA is a professional Internship and Training Program for international youth established by the U.S. Department of State under the framework of the Exchange Visitor Program Act. It is one of the exchange programs administered by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State.

Participants in the program hold a J-1 visa (Exchange Visitor Visa) for a professional internship lasting 6-18 months. The program is monitored by the U.S. Department of State throughout its duration and provides a 24-hour service hotline, issues Social Security Numbers (SSN), and offers comprehensive social medical and accident insurance during their stay in the U.S. After completing the 6-18 months of work, participants have an additional month of legal stay to travel and sightseeing in the United States.

Application Period
Applications are accepted all year-round. The entire process, from application to visa issuance, takes approximately 2-3 months (including preparing documents, host employers interview, receiving a Job Offer, Issue DS-2019 Form, and Visa Interview etc.).
Program Duration
In addition to providing interns with the opportunity to work in the U.S. for 6-18 months, this program automatically grants applicants a 30-day travel period after their program ends.
