After the World War II, in order to strengthen cultural exchange between countries and promote international understanding, the U.S. Congress passed the 501.C.3 Act,the Act authorizes the U.S. government to fund designated non-profit organizations in the United States to organize overseas Middle and High School students to study at American public high schools for half a year to one academic year on a J-1 visa. During their studies, students live with local American host families, gaining a full understanding of American culture and experiencing American-style education, while also sharing their own country's culture with the American people.
